RC car and bike cleaning solution mix:
This is a super affordable ”DIY” cleaning mix that you easily can modify yourself by simple adding more or less cleaning fluids depending on how strong results you want. The cost of a full bottle of the cleaning fluids is only around 1-2 euros (depending on what brands of cleaning fluids you use).
- Fill the Pro Sprayer bottle with water up to the H2O grade (see the grades on the edge of the bottle – it’s approximately 570ml).
- Add 6% of normal concentrated automotive alkaline pre-cleaner fluid. This is the type of ”degreaser” that actually aren’t degreasing per say – but it cleans normal dirt and is normally used as a pre-cleaning fluid if you have a really dirty full scale car (spray it on, let sit for a while and then rinse off with water before shampooing it etc). Note, don’t confuse it with a automotive naphtha based degreaser fluid as that is much more aggressive and also degreases your bearings etc (don’t use that type for this application).
- Add 4% of a normal automotive car shampoo. It really doesn’t matter what you use for this application. If you don’t have any in your garage already, get a non expensive one.
- Mix done. The perfect cleaning solution for your RC car or MTB bike etc.
RC Car Cleaning Tips:
- Brush off loose dirt with a brush (paint brush of tooth brush)
- If you have a vehicle with ”waterproof” electronics – make sure the sealing o-rings in the servo(s) and receiver box are seated and looks ok.
- Use the cleaning fluid mix described here above and spray it on your dirty RC car. Let it sit for a few minutes – before it dries use a tooth brush or paint brush to agitate the dirt and then rinse it with water.
- Use a soft cloth/towel to dry it off and let it sit to completely dry.
- When dry, check that the suspension moves freely, check to see of there any screws or nuts that have come lose etc (tighten or replace them).
- Use a small amount of spray oil to lubricate the bearings (like WD40).
- Use suitable protective gloves and clothes when using chemicals such as these.
