This R/C model assembly kit recreates the Scania 770 S 8×4/4, a double front-axle steering, double rear-axle drive eight-wheel heavy trailer head equipped with a 16.4-liter V8 turbo engine capable of 770hp, added in 2020 to the Swedish manufacturer Scania’s top-grade S Series. The model has a highly realistic body with interior details, and a chassis featuring a ladder frame with aluminum side channels. Power is delivered to the two rear axles via a 3-speed transmission, while the two front axles are steered by a single servo; the second axle is a lift axle which can be manually raised and lowered.

About the model

• The four-axle, eight-wheel 770 S cuts a highly impressive figure in 1/14 scale, with a detailed body.
• The stylish front of the model features a grille bar and a low bar, with metal transfers for the emblems.
• A roof bar, light pods and warning light on the roof make for a really impressive finish.
• Take a closer look at the kerb mirror, which of course is modelled accurately on that of the full size truck.
• Metal-plated recreations of the cab steps.
• A driver figure is included in the set to add that extra layer of realism.
• The back of the cab has a tower rack with depictions of fuel tank, air tanks, stowage cases and more.
• Fenders and mud flaps give an extra accent on the rear. Lights can be lit up using separately sold LEDs.
• Enjoy gear changes with the model’s three-speed transmission.
• The chassis employs a ladder frame with aluminum side channels. The two rear axles each have a differential gear.
• One servo is used to steer both the front axles, with the model recreating the slight difference in angle between them.
• The second axle is a lift axle that can be raised and lowered by hand.
• Trunnion design rear suspension is like that on a real truck, and employs plastic axles and metal leaf springs.
• Dual tires are used at the rear, and of course feature realistic tread.
• The battery pack is installed inside the tower rack behind the cab. Side panels are held in place by magnets.
• A coupler is included to allow connection of semi trailers from the extensive Tamiya line-up.
